International Literacy Day

September 8 was proclaimed International Literacy Day by UNESCO in 1966 to remind the international community of the importance of literacy for individuals, communities, and societies. This year's theme for World Literacy Day is “Literacy for a human-centered recovery: Narrowing the digital divide”. The theme of ILD 2021 is set to create more awareness among the people regarding digital literacy. The students of St Theresa’s school celebrated the event by tutoring an individual who wasn’t fortunate enough to get schooling privileges in their locality between 4th September to 9th September. The selected person was tutored for half an hour every day by the student. They kept going with the spirit of the quote ‘ Every single drop counts ‘. The photos were clicked of the teaching-learning process and the written work of the person on the last day was shared. Prizes were awarded for the best work to motivate the students to continue this outreach program in the coming years too. Through this activity, the students learned that only by educating society can we hope to make the world a better place for everyone. The very proud smiles on every student’s face on the last day of this activity were proof of the success of this activity.

Diya Decoration Competition

A Diya Decoration Competition was organized for the students of classes I-V on 27th of October 2021. The students participated in the competition with full enthusiasm, as they came up with unique ideas for decoration. They used various decorative materials like paints, sequins, crystals, and glass pieces. It was a festive look as the children painted and decorated the diyas.

National yoga day

St Theresa’s School in observance of Yoga Day conducted the "Yoga Sapthaha" from 14th to 21st June 2021. Yoga embodies the unity of mind and body; thought and action, it is a holistic approach to healthand well-being. Through Yoga, we discover the sense of oneness with ourselves, nature, and the world.

National Reading Day

The National Reading Day is celebrated on 19th June in honour of late P N Panicker, the father of India's Library Movement. To mark this day St. Theresa's School conducted an online reading activity for students. The students were given a short paragraph with many spelling errors in it. They were asked to read the paragraph and write the correct spelling of misspelt words. Students participated with great enthusiasm. Thus, there were encouraged to cultivate reading habits as well as develop vocabulary.    

Placard competition for classes III – V

A placard competition on the theme Saint Therese our Patroness was conducted as a part of the monthly activity in October. The students from class III to class V participated in full enthusiasm. The participants prepared various creative and innovative placards and the placards were later displayed in the schools notice board. A total of 110 students took part in this competition. All the winners were awarded E-certificates and the other participants also received participation certificates.

Online competitions for classes I and II

The first competition for this academic year 2020-2021 for classes I and II, “THE SHOW AND TELL” was conducted on 10th September 2020. It was an online competition and the platform used was Google Meet. Many children participated in these competitions and E-certificates were awarded to the winners.

Fancy Dress Competition

An online fancy dress competition on the theme “Heal the World” was conducted for the students of Classes III, IV and V on September 7th, 2020.

Clay modelling competition

Clay modelling competition was held on 22nd January, 2020 for the students of Class I to Class V. It was a good motor activity for the kids to bring out their creativity and to turn out beautiful pieces of art.

Best out of waste competition

Best out of waste competition was held on 8th January, 2020 for the students of Class I-V. Students came out with innovative ideas in creating the best out of discarded articles.

Class assembly – III

The students of Class III presented an assembly highlighting theme “Independence Day” in School auditorium. Mr Sudhakar Rao, ASP Kadri, Mangaluru presided over this remarkable event as a Chief Guest. The day was a remarkable one with the words of Chief Guest which served to be the revival of one patriotic spirit. Cultural programme was organised Class III students.

Class assembly – V – C

The students of Class VC presented an assembly highlighting theme “Hardwork” on September 2019 in School auditorium. The assemblies that were put up were thoroughly enjoyed by the participants as well as the audience.


Students of class I and II participated in the “Fruit/Vegetable Parade” competition which was held on 18th September 2019. It is an art of wearing an amazing or unusual costume as a part of a theme. It was the most awaited event of the year, as it is always a pleasure to watch the toddlers dressed up as different vegetables or fruits


Students of class III to V participated in the”Folk Dance Competition” which was held on 18th September 2019. Folk dancing is a wonderful way to introduce young children to the world’s rich diversity and enable them to teach the enjoyment of dance, music, and rhythm. Students participated very enthusiastically to showcase their talents.


The Junior Section had the Patron’s Day Assembly on 25th September 2019. Sr. Philomene Saldanha, Principal, Sr. Lourdes, the Vice-Principal, Sr. Joseph Mary, Sr. Severine and Sr. Manisha were present on the occasion. A beautiful assembly was put up by the students of Class V. Prayer service, welcome dance, entertainment dance and a short drama on the life of St. Therese was appreciated by the audience.


The students of Class VB presented an assembly highlighting theme “Discipline in Students” on 18th July 2019 in School auditorium. The students were able to relate to the topic which was presented through different mediums. The assemblies that were put up were thoroughly enjoyed by the participants as well as the audience.


Students of Class III, IV and V had participated in English Elocution Competition enthusiastically on July 24, 2019. The Toy Talk Competition was held for Class I and II where the young speakers were excited to speak about their favourite toy.


Students of grade 4ABC conducted the assembly for the foundation day on 11th July, 2019 in school auditorium. Sr. Anitha Shanti, the Superior of Bethany Convent and Mrs. Charleen Rebimbus, the PTA Vice-President graced the celebration. Sr.Philomene Saldanha, the Principal, Sr.Lourdes, the Vice-Principal and all the sisters of our school were present. The program started with a prayer service. Students depicted Father Founder’s early life and the achievements through song, dance and skit. Sr. Anitha Shanti conveyed the message and stressed to follow the footsteps of the Father Founder. Mrs. Sunatra Welta spoke about the significance of the day.Mrs. Charleen Rebimbus also gave her valuable message. Students wished the sisters with saplings. The program ended with the school anthem.


Class wise Word building competition was conducted on 5th July 2019 in various classes. Students were given a word to rearrange the letters and make as many words as they can.

This was designed to increase children’s vocabulary and reading comprehension skills. Increasing vocabulary will improve their reading ability and help children understand more of what they read.



The students of Class VA presented an assembly highlighting theme “Save Earth” on 6th July 2019 in School auditorium. The students were able to relate to the topic which was presented through different mediums like skit, song, dance and thought. The assemblies that were put up were thoroughly enjoyed by the participants as well as the audience.
