St. Theresa’s School Organises Green Quiz to Promote Environmental Awareness
Mangaluru, June 13: St. Theresa’s School, Bendur, organised a Green Quiz on June 13, 2026, with the objective of creating awareness about environmental conservation and encouraging students to deepen their understanding of environmental issues.
The programme commenced with a special assembly on the theme of environmental protection, conducted by the students of Environmental Studies (ENA). Through thought-provoking presentations and messages, the students highlighted the importance of preserving nature and adopting sustainable practices in daily life.
Following the assembly, a Green Quiz was conducted for students of Grades VI to X. Participants represented their respective houses and competed enthusiastically in various rounds that tested their knowledge of environmental science, biodiversity, climate change, wildlife conservation, and sustainable living. The quiz witnessed active participation and healthy competition among all the houses.
The Green Quiz was ably conducted by the Quiz Masters, Mrs. Anita D’Souza and Mrs. Veena D’Souza. In addition, a General Quiz was conducted for all students, providing them with an opportunity to enhance their general awareness and knowledge across a wide range of topics.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Sr. Lourdes encouraged the students to become responsible stewards of nature and actively contribute towards protecting and preserving the environment through their daily actions. She emphasised that every individual has a role to play in building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future. She also announced the results of the Green Quiz and congratulated the winning house and all the participants for their enthusiastic involvement and commendable performance.
The programme proved to be both informative and engaging, inspiring students to become more environmentally conscious and responsible citizens. It also served as an effective platform for promoting teamwork, critical thinking, and a spirit of healthy competition among students.
