International Yoga Day Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm at St Theresa’s School by the Primary Students :
The Primary Section of St Theresa’s School celebrated International Yoga Day with great zeal and enthusiasm, highlighting the importance of yoga in promoting a healthy mind and body. The programme was graced by the school’s Yoga Instructor, Mrs Kavitha Ashok, an India Book of Records holder, as the Chief Guest. The event was also attended by the School Principal Sr Lourdes, Vice Principal Sr Vidya, and the teachers of the Primary Section.
The programme commenced with a prayer followed by a warm Welcome Address, extending a heartfelt welcome to the dignitaries and the gathering.
A captivating Yoga Display by the students followed, where they confidently demonstrated various yoga asanas, breathing exercises, and balancing postures by means of different dance moves, techniques and styles . Their disciplined performance reflected the benefits of regular yoga practice and received loud applause from the audience.
The whole group of primary students were then made to do a few Asanas by Mrs Kavitha Ashok. The students enjoyed the session.
Addressing the gathering, Mrs Kavitha Ashok encouraged the students to make yoga a part of their daily routine, emphasizing that it nurtures physical fitness, mental well-being, and inner peace. Sr Lourdes, in her inspiring message, highlighted the significance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through regular exercise, self-discipline, and mindfulness. Discipline, Confidence and Concentration increases by doing Yoga was emphasised by the Principal in her speech. She appreciated the students for their excellent performance and thanked the teachers for their dedicated efforts in making the programme a success.
The celebration concluded with a Vote of Thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest, Principal, Vice Principal, teachers, and students for their wholehearted participation and support in making the International Yoga Day celebration a memorable event.
