India had officially launched its Covid Vaccination drive on 26th January 2021. To make the drive a success, many health camps have been set up throughout the nation to see to the successful and effective vaccination coverage of the population. In accordance with this, St Theresa’s School under the able venture undertaken by Mr. MLA Vedavyas Kamath, MCC councilor, and the corporation of the Bendur Ward, Mr. Navin D’Souza joined hands in the vaccination drive on 23rd August from 10 am to 12:30 pm at the School Infirmary. Sr. Anitha Shanthi, the Superior of the Bethany congregation also graced the occasion. The drive began by invoking God’s blessings by the lighting of the lamp. Speaking at the inaugural, Sister Lourdes, the principal of the school said that the Covid 19 has indeed turned the whole world upside down. “ The whole community of Bethany congregation is earnestly praying for the pandemic to end and normalcy to come back to our world “ she said. The registered people for this camp were asked to get their Aadhar card and the mobile phone linked to their Aadhar card . It was also seen that the attendees were registered on the CoWin Portal to help aid the government in keeping track of the vaccination statistics. The people who attended this drive were administered their first dose of the Covishield vaccine manufactured by the Serum institute of India. The officials from Bejai Health Center oversaw the drive and helped the attendees follow all the Covid protocols during their registration right till they were vaccinated which helped in the smooth conduct of the drive. The vaccination drive was indeed a success and added to the ray of hope of protecting the citizens and hopefully ending the pandemic.
