From the 8th to the 12th of January 2024, St. Theresa's School embarked on a heartwarming journey of benevolence through its "Joy of Giving Week." The school's students, guided by the spirit of compassion, actively participated in collecting a diverse array of essential items. The initiative aimed to extend a helping hand to those in need, with the collected items ranging from toiletries to food staples, stationeries, and more.
One of the key focuses of the collection drive was on toiletries, including soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and washing powder. This thoughtful selection recognized the importance of personal hygiene and well-being, addressing a basic yet crucial aspect of daily life. The students, understanding the significance of such items, contributed generously to ensure the success of this aspect of the campaign.
The drive also encompassed an array of food items, such as pulses, cereals, sugar, tea powder, rice, oil, onions, potatoes, garlic, biscuits, toasts, and rusks. This comprehensive approach reflected a holistic understanding of the diverse needs within the community. The students exhibited commendable awareness and sensitivity, contributing items that would cater to both immediate and sustained nutritional requirements.
Moreover, the inclusion of stationery like pens, pencils, scales, and notebooks added an educational dimension to the initiative. Recognizing the importance of education in empowering individuals, the students demonstrated a commitment to uplifting the recipients by providing tools for learning and self-expression.
The distribution of the collected items to organizations like Cheshire Home, Riya Foundation, Prashanth Niwas, Snehadeep, Jeevadhan Gurpur, Sneh Sadhan Gurpur, Old Age Home Maroli, Mother Theresa Home Attavar, Paschim Rahab Rehabilitation Centre, Guardian Angel School, Kulshekar Orphanage, and Rosa Mystical Orphanage marked the culmination of the students' collective efforts. Witnessing the impact of their contributions on those less fortunate was a profound experience for the students, reinforcing the values of empathy, altruism, and social responsibility.
