The much-awaited one-day picnic to Madikeri was an exhilarating experience for all. The journey began at 4:30 AM when the students, brimming with enthusiasm, gathered at the school premises. The excitement was palpable as they boarded the bus, which was soon filled with music, singing, and cheerful dancing.
Our first stop was Harangi Dam, where students marvelled at the serene view of water cascading amidst lush greenery. The calm environment provided a perfect start to the day.
Next, we visited the Elephant Camp, where students were thrilled to observe elephants in their natural habitat. They were fascinated by the gentle giants and their interactions with the mahouts.
The journey continued to the Golden Temple in Kushalnagar, a stunning Tibetan monastery. The students were captivated by the intricate architecture and the peaceful ambiance of the temple. This visit was an enriching cultural experience.
Around noon, we stopped for lunch, which everyone enjoyed after a morning filled with exploration and excitement.
Post lunch, we visited Nisargadhama, a beautiful ecological park. The students explored the park's vibrant atmosphere and admired the statues depicting the rich culture of Kodagu. It was a wonderful blend of learning and leisure. They also indulged in shopping for souvenirs, making the visit even more memorable.
Our final destination was Raja’s Seat, where we witnessed a breathtaking sunset. The picturesque view of the sun setting over the hills left everyone in awe and provided the perfect conclusion to the day.
After a fun-filled and educational day, we began our return journey. The bus was again alive with music and dancing as students shared their experiences and bonded with each other. We reached back at the school by 9:30 PM, tired but happy and fulfilled.
The picnic was not just a recreational outing but also an opportunity for students to learn about nature, culture, and history. It was indeed a day to cherish.
