St. Theresa’s School celebrated the 79th Independence Day of our nation on 15th August 2025 with great patriotic fervour and pride. The school campus was adorned with vibrant tricolour decorations, radiating the joy, unity, and spirit of the occasion.
The celebration commenced with a Guard of Honour to the Chief Guest, Subedar Anand Singh, followed by the hoisting of the National Flag in the presence of Correspondent Sr. Shaila, Principal Sr. Lourdes, Vice Principal Sr. Vidya, and PTA Vice President Mrs. Colette Cabral. This was succeeded by a grand March Past by the four houses, the school cabinet, NCC cadets, Scouts, and Guides, displaying impeccable discipline and coordination.
A solemn prayer service set a reflective tone for the morning. The gathering was warmly welcomed by a student, who also introduced the Chief Guest. Kiara of UKG delivered a touching speech on Onake Obavva, followed by Niya Paul who spoke on the Significance of Independence Day, reminding everyone of the sacrifices that shaped our freedom.
Students then captivated the audience with a melodious patriotic song and an energetic patriotic dance, both of which filled the atmosphere with national pride.
In his address, the Chief Guest urged students to uphold the values of discipline, dedication, and love for the nation in their daily lives, and to use social media responsibly and effectively for the welfare and progress of the country.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks and the distribution of sweets, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of pride and commitment as responsible citizens of India.
