The students of class 1 had an exciting day today September 25th, along with the Vice Principal Sr Reena, the class teachers, and the helpers at Moodabidri and Karkala.
It was the annual picnic day.
The day began with excitement as the students along with their class teachers gathered at the school premises. The Principal started the day by invoking God’s blessings and the students then went to the allotted buses.
The journey began to Moodabidri to visit the Thousand Pillar Basadi. The students were mesmerised by the calm and cool surroundings of the Basadi. The guide explained the history of the Basadi.
From there the journey continued to visit the second tallest statue of Bahubali in the world which is situated in Karkala. The Gomateshwara statue was built in the 15th century. The students were spellbound by the sheer size of the statue. Later the students visited Koti Chennaya theme park. They were happy to see the traditional work of Dakshina Kannada. After this, the students visited a cashew factory. They saw how the cashew nut is extracted.
After a sumptuous lunch, we continued to visit places. Next on the list was the Attur Basilica or St. Lawrence Church, built in 1759. Here many miracles have taken place. Students were amazed by the place.
Last on the list was the Soans farm a place where students were exposed to a variety of plantations.
Overall the students had a marvellous day. They thanked the school Principal Sr Lourdes for the opportunity given and looked forward to another picnic in the coming year.
