St. Theresa’s School Celebrates Holy Mass for Independence Day and the Feast of the Assumption
St. Theresa’s School, Bendur, gathered in prayer and thanksgiving at St. Sebastian’s Church, Bendur, to commemorate India’s 80th Independence Day and the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Holy Mass was a beautiful expression of faith, patriotism, gratitude, and devotion to Mother Mary.
The Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Jeevan, Assistant Parish Priest of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Vamanjoor, who, through his inspiring homily, drew a meaningful connection between the journey of life and the importance of destination, direction, and signboards. He reminded the faithful that, just as signboards guide us towards our destination, we too need the right direction in our spiritual journey. He beautifully explained that Jesus is our destination and the way to Heaven, while Mother Mary lovingly leads us towards her Son through her example of faith, obedience, humility, and love.
The liturgy was prayerfully prepared and enriched with meaningful prayers, readings, and uplifting hymns, creating an atmosphere of reverence and devotion. The celebration also reminded everyone to be grateful for the freedom we enjoy as a nation and to use this freedom responsibly by promoting love, unity, peace, and service.
The Holy Mass concluded with grateful hearts and a renewed commitment to follow Christ faithfully, seek the guidance and intercession of Mother Mary, and live as responsible citizens who contribute to the peace, progress, and well-being of our nation.
