St Theresa’s School Management and the staff here saluted the nation on its 74th Independence Day in the school premises at 8:45 AM on 15th August 2020.
The Chief guest for the day Sr Mariette the Secretary of the Bethany Educational Society and the Correspondent of the school, Sr Philomene Saldanha, the Principal, Sr Nancy, the Headmistress of St Sebestain School, Sr Lourdes, the Vice Principal were the dignitaries present.
To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation Sr Mariette unfurled the flag and all the Theresian staff sang the National Anthem in unison. The programme began with a prayer led by Mrs Gladys and Mrs Seema.
The Chief guest of the day in her emotional speech said, “There is joy on one side for we are celebrating 74th Independence Day and on onside there is sadness as we are missing you dear students. She also quoted, ‘Let us remember, for your tomorrow we died yesterday’ so let’s make a strong decision to value our nation and never forget the sacrifices from those who gave us freedom.”
Mr Rajesh spoke on the importance of the day. The entire ceremony was organised by the Physical Education instructors Mr Joseph and Mrs Anita. The programme was compered by Mrs Shilly and Mr Pramod welcomed the gathering. The programme was live telecasted to all the Theresians by Mr Thomas and Mr Vijith for those who were unable to take part in the solemn celebration due to the pandemic. It was a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for all Indians to live in peace and diversity.
