We are Indians firstly and lastly ‘- B. R. Ambedkar. The students of Grade 3C and 3D celebrated Republic Day in a meaningful way during the morning assembly this morning. The program began with a meaningful prayer service wherein the students prayed for the progress and safety of our country and placed all the citizens under the mighty hand of the Lord. After the prayer service, a student welcomed the principal, vice principal, and faculty members and students.
The dignitaries were greeted with a flower sapling each as a token of love and gratitude. The importance of the day was given in a creative way in the form of a short skit. The students then began the short cultural program wherein two patriotic dances were performed and a patriotic song was sung to bring about a patriotic atmosphere in the audience. The principal Sr Lourdes spoke to the gathering highlighting the importance of following all the rights and duties as citizens of India. The program ended with a vote of thanks from a student representative. The primary students of grade 3 to 5 were thus given a great start in getting to know more about the importance of Republic Day by means of the day’s assembly.
