St. Theresa's School celebrated the 77th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm and grandeur on 15th August 2023. The occasion of independence ignited a strong feeling of patriotism among all the attendees and served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters.
On the eve of Independence Day, the celebrations began with the tiny tots of the Pre-KG and kindergarten giving a Splash of tricolors on the stage with National symbols and National Flags and showing their love towards our country India. The little Indians waved the National Flags singing patriotic songs with innocent and angelic smiles. The Principal Sr Lourdes conveyed the Independence Day message to the brave students of St Theresa's school and spent her quality time with the smallest of the smallest. The programme ended with collage making of the National symbols.
This programme was followed by the celebration of primary students which was conducted by the students of grades 3A and 3B. The programme began by invoking God’s blessings. Cultural dance and a patriotic song sung by the students signified the culture and tradition of our country which mesmerized the audience. A very inspiring and stirring speech was rendered by the Chief Guest Dr Jolly Dmello. The chief guest complemented the efforts of the staff in the success of the day’s program in training the students. She in her speech shared how India attained Independence and she said that she could see the future nation builders in these students.
The programme for the high school students was held on 15th August, 2023 in the school main ground. The event began with the dignitaries Chief guest Advocate Arun Bangera, The Principal-Sr.Lourdes, Vice principal- Sr.Reena, PTA Vice-president-Mr.Sujith Noronha, were escorted by the school band. The tricolor flag was hoisted, filling the atmosphere with immense pride and a sense of belonging to our country. Following the flag hoisting, the national anthem was sung with heartfelt emotions.
A prayer song was sung, paying tribute to our beloved motherland, reflecting the students' reverence and love for India. The students then showcased their patriotism through various patriotic dance performances, expressing their love and pride for the nation. During the event, students delivered inspiring speeches about Independent India, demonstrating their deep love and respect for the country. The chief guest also addressed the gathering, expressing his thoughts and feelings about the significance of Independence Day.
To instill a sense of patriotism and teamwork among the students, the house members of classes 6 to 10 marched in colorful uniforms moving to the beat of drum music. This display of unity and spirit added to the patriotic atmosphere of the celebration. The highlight of the event was a mesmerizing fusion dance performance by the students of class 8. Brimming with joy and love for our nation, their dance portrayed their deep affection for India.
As the event concluded, the audience departed with beaming faces filled with happiness and pride in being part of the Independence Day celebration at St. Theresa's School. The event successfully kindled the spirit of patriotism and unity among all present, leaving a lasting impression on everyone's hearts. The event concluded by students taking a pledge to remain loyal to the country.
